Barry Greenhouse, Senior Vice President, Merchandising, Supplier Management & Marketing

Barry Greenhouse is the Senior Vice President, Merchandising, Supplier Management & Marketing of W.W. Grainger, Inc., a $17.9 billion leading broad line distributor with operations primarily in North America and Japan. In this role, he oversees the company’s merchandising capabilities, supplier relationships and product margin, as well as marketing, pricing and mid-sized customer initiatives. Together, these responsibilities enable a differentiated and cohesive value proposition at scale, aligning product, price, promotion and go-to-market execution. 

Since joining Grainger in 2004, Barry has held multiple roles of progressive responsibility, most recently as Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain and Customer Experience, where he was responsible for all aspects of the customer experience from order to delivery, as well as the overall design and capabilities for Grainger’s industry-leading fulfillment network. His leadership was instrumental during Grainger’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring continuity in supply chain operations as an essential business providing critical products to help customers maintain a safe, healthy and productive work environment.

Prior to joining Grainger, Barry held roles in operations, sales, marketing and project management at McMaster-Carr and Webvan. 

Barry earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and an MBA, both from the University of California, Los Angeles.

He serves on the board of Erika’s Lighthouse, an organization dedicated to the prevention, early identification and early intervention of youth mental health issues and the board of FIRST Illinois Robotics, which designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Most recently, Barry served on the board of trustees for Grainger-affiliated MonotaRO, a Japan-based leading eCommerce direct marketer of maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) products.
